The WLC Golf Team traveled to Scotland originally in May 2015 and competed against the University of St Andrews and the performance team from the University of St Andrews traveled to North Carolina for a match with WLC in March of 2016. Our group of seniors were freshman in the spring on 2016 and had a great experience competing against such great international competition, but more importantly had a great cultural experience. The seed was planted at that point for them to travel abroad as WLC student-athletes for more competition and cultural learning experiences which is coming to fruition this spring! The first trip to Scotland was a great experience both as golfers and students traveling abroad and experiencing Scottish culture—most students at the University of St Andrews are from all over the world as it’s one of the finest academic institutions in the world.
