She left the decision in God’s hands: When Siobhán Heiss was looking for a college to attend, she submitted 19 applications. That’s right, 19 applications! Making her college decision wasn’t easy, but she knew whichever college she selected would be part of God’s plan. Siobhán eventually chose Wisconsin Lutheran College as the place she would earn her bachelor’s degree.
Siobhán knew, even as a young teen, that she wanted to study accounting. “I remember reading an article in Forbes that said accountants would be in high demand when I’d be entering the workforce. I felt that Christians were needed in the business world, and I saw my opportunity to make a difference.” WLC stood tall among the other 18 schools in her search as the place to prepare her to become a world-class businesswoman leading for Christ.
Attending WLC was only a reality for Siobhán because of the generous financial assistance that was available to her. There is a very present need for your support since 99% of students at WLC receive financial aid in some form. College affordability is a tremendous concern for students and their families.
Because of your generosity, as well as that of many other donors, Siobhán, who walked across our stage at Commencement on May 18, will be well prepared to enter the world as a Christian servant leader. In fact, Siobhán has already started working for a multinational professional services firm, Ernst & Young, a job she secured months before graduation.
